TomDeligiannis     Ass. Prof. Department of Environment, Peace, and Security
MaryLind I would like to see a participatory mechanism established, a committee which would monitor, analyze and make recommendations to administration and council regarding ethical funding strategies and sources - an intellectual/education/professional endeavor.   PE 2007
HeatherPage     NRSD 2007
VivianaMourra     ESP 2007
LaurenHerzer     ESP 2007
JenniferScharf The Gender department must have the funding for a full-time faculty member. I sincerely hope the Council will change their minds and renew Anouk Guine's contract in light of her tremendous qualifications.   Peace Education 2007
RebeccaDavis A participatory process will lead to transparency and bring with it greater accountability. Then Upeace just need to add a communication mechanism. I support the July 13/2007 open letter of concern to the Upeace council. NRSD 2003
RahulVaswani UPEACE must participatively review the success/failure of all its programs, and openly celebrate the contributions of ALL UPEACE members. Let us never forget where we are coming from, who has been with us all along, and where we are going together today. I support the July 13, 2007, OPEN LETTER OF CONCERN TO UPEACE COUNCIL. NRSD 2003
IsraelJigba We should all work together to uphold the dignity, and fine reputation Upeace has earned over the years; this cannot be achieved without the voice and effective participation of students and alumni in the decision making process of the University.   IPS 2005

SergioGuillen 4 vital actions for accountability: a)Create an internal Ombudsman; b)institute whisteblower protecion policy; c)elected permanent faculty, student & alumni representation in Council; d)academic integrity protection policies(accreditation, tenure, etc.) Furthermore, in support of the July 13 STUDENT LETTER OF CONCERN, I call for an immediate response by the Council stating the outcomes of their revision to the Rector-elect's appointment in light of the concerns brought up by students. 19 ZoeVanGelder Although I've not been a student at Upeace, my mother's time there finishing her masters afforded me many learning experiences. Ronnie DeCamino, as an influential figure in her acquisition of knowledge, was also an important figure in mine.   UPeace 2nd generation

RachnaToshniwal I truly believe that UPEACE can be an institution that actively integrates and manifests the principles that it espouses and teaches. I hope this process will move it UPEACE in this direction - to be the change it wants to see in this world! I support the JULY 13, 2007, OPEN LETTER TO THE UPEACE COUNCIL NRSD 2005-2007

AlessandroCordero The text should be also in Spanish. Sincerely, I'd like to have more coworkers like Ronnie, Simon and Anouk at UPEACE. If I have to be frank, I think it will be extremely difficult to find someone else like them. Headquarters Staff, Information and Communication Technologies

KarineGiraudel     Educator (France)
MónicaAcuña The integrity of UPeace's core academic programmes requires an experienced, compromised and inspiring faculty. It does require core proffesors, being Dr. Ronnie De Camino one of them.   NRP 2008
NoraMahmoud     Peace Education, 2007
sylviaketelhohn We would like to have Anouk Guine back in U Peace. Her work is remarkable. I agree with proposal Affiliation with Peace Education & Gender & Peace Department

DouglasWilliamson I dearly hope this issue is addressed effectively as it will make the UPEACE community tighter instead of alienating many parts of it.   NRSD 2005

GabrielButtram In order for UPeace to embody the principles it claims to support, I consider these changes necessary.   NRSD 2007
AlefiaMerchant     NRSD 2007
LoizosLoukaidis I consider the response of the Rector-elect to the Open Letter of Concern inadequate as it does not answer our vital questions in regards to his involvement in institutions that have nothing to do with UPEACE and its principles. What´s really concerning is the fact that 3 professors who always stood up for students´ rights are no longer at UPEACE! This reminds me of the "silencing of the opponents" that was taking place during dictatorships! Is that what we want from UPEACE? PE 2006-2007
LailaSaid     IPS Alumni 2007
TanyaRoberts-Davis The response from the UPeace administrative bodies and the "Rector Elect" to the concerns recently raised by students and professors (re: decision making processes that actually reflect the UPeace mandate)has been inadequate. Hopefully, this will change in the future and dissenting voices will not be silenced. I sincerely hope the professors targetted for the 'cost cutting measures' will be reinstated and that the UPeace Board will seek a rector who more closely reflects UPeace ideals and principles. 52 GeoffreyWest Is it just me, or is there a pattern? It looks like the "rebels" are being pushed to the side. Even the holistic proposal I sent to the council was ignored and not even discussed. It seems that there is a lot of fear to maintain the status quo. There is no peace at UPEACE. How can we create a product of peace, without the experience of BEING peace? (or LOVE, for that matter?) PE 2006
KatieIsacksen As a university dedicated to peace and equality, it makes no sense that abrupt, program-altering decisions are being made without the students' knowledge.   NRSD 2008
julieearp     NRSD 2004
KimberlyRafuse My general comments are that we are taught within UPeace about Stakeholder involvement, and yet in important matters this is not exercised at UPeace. There is no formal mechanism for verbalizing concerns.   ESP 2007
ShreyaJani Be the change you want to see in the world. We cannot uphold ideals of democracy, honesty, justice and human rights without practising what we are preaching. It is my humblest request to the council and the UPeace community to be true to its mandate.   MA Peace Education 2006-07
BrigidGlustein Walk the talk... the University still has a long road to go before they can say that's been accomplished. Hopefully these measures would help that progress. I support the July 13/2007 open letter of concern to the Upeace council. Peace Education 2007

LornaBaez I was a student at UPEACE workshop on January 2007 and took the course with Anouk Guine. I am an international student/traveler and I can say that Anouk is an amazing professor and was a great asset to the university.   January 2007

PaulNegley Jr I am disgusted with the way UPeace treated Ronnie de Camino. He has been personally invested in the future of the university. He is beloved by all his students. This facade of budget constraints as a reason to retire him is absurd.   NRSD 2007
ArshiaKhan     NRSD 2005-2007
MuzaffarSuleymanov It's absolutely preposterous when administrative decisions make the faculty leave the school. If there is financial crisis professors and academic process should not be harmed by "cost-cutting initiatives" - administration should cut its own expenses!! I support the July 13, 2007, OPEN LETTER OF CONCERN TO UPEACE COUNCIL. UPEACE and its students should not have even a remote connection with UNOCAL IPS 2005
